Greek ForMin Dendias: You can count on our full support in efforts to join Schengen, OECD

Romania can count on Greece's "full support" in its efforts to join the Schengen Area and the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD), visiting Greek Foreign Minister Nikos Dendias said in a joint statement delivered today with his Romanian counterpart Bogdan Aurescu. Dendias also spoke about the importance of supporting the Western Balkan countries.

Bosnia Completing Fewer War Crimes Cases, OSCE Warns

The OSCE Mission to Bosnia and Herzegovina said in an information sheet published on Tuesday that only 18 war crimes cases were completed last year, compared to a total of 49 in 2020.

It also said that at the end of 2020, "there remained a backlog of 571 unresolved cases involving 4,498 suspects".

OSCE Withdraws from Observation of Russian Elections

The OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (ODIHR) has withdrawn from the monitoring of the upcoming elections to the State Duma lower house of parliament, and its further assessments concerning the September election will hardly deserve attention, Russian Foreign Ministry stated at a briefing on Thursday.

The July 11 early parliamentary elections  in Bulgaria were competitive, and fundamental freedoms were generally respected, Artur Gerasimov, Cpecial Co-ordinator and head of the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe's (OSCE) short-term observation missionto Sofia, told a press conference Monday.

The protracted conflicts in the Eastern Neighborhood and the wider Black Sea region, EU-Africa relations and the EU's strategic vision for the Indo-Pacific region were some of the subjects discussed at the informal meeting of the EU Foreign Ministers (Gymnich) held Wednesday and Thursday in Lisbon, under the Portuguese Presidency of the EU Council, the Foreign Ministry informs in a release.
