BELGRADE -- Russian President Vladimir Putin said on Thursday that Serbia and Russia have strong political ties.
He underscored that Moscow's position on the issue of Kosovo and Metohija will not change and that Russia insists on it being resolved in line with UNSC Resolution 1244.

BELGRADE - Russian President Vladimir Putin said on Thursday that Serbia and Russia have strong political relations, underscoring that Moscow's position on the issue of Kosovo-Metohija will not change and that Russia insists on the Kosovo issue being resolved in line with UNSC Resolution 1244.
Murphy: Putin's visit does not harm Serbia-U.S. relations
BELGRADE - U.S. Senator Christopher Murphy talked with MPs, members of the group of friendship with the United States, at the Serbian parliament on Wednesday.
During a one-hour meeting, Murphy said that he does not see why Russian President Vladimir Putin's visit would harm relations between the U.S. and Serbia.

A team of twenty-two monitors from the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) is to oversee the forthcoming early elections on October 5.
This is the eight time in a row that the organization is to sent observers for a vote in Bulgaria. The deployment comes at the request of the Bulgarian Interior Ministry, Novinite's Bulgarian-language website reports.

Ukraine Soldiers, Rebels Clash at Luhansk Airport
Kiev forces have pulled back from the airport of Luhansk in eastern Ukraine after having fought pro-Russian separatist for hours.
The country's security council confirmed the move in a statement quoted by UNIAN news agency.
Meanwhile reports emerged that a Ukrainian warship had been attacked by separatists in the Azov sea. Kiev says the cutter was assaulted from the coast.

Zannier: Serbia is in good position for mediator role
ALPBACH, Austria - Secretary General of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) Lamberto Zannier believes that Serbia, next OSCE chair country, will be able to continue Switzerland’s efforts aimed at resolving the Ukraine crisis since it has both historical ties with eastern Slavic countries and deepening relations with the EU.
