"We hope Russia doesn't play games"

"As you have heard from the Secretary of State, the National Security Adviser and others, we do not know if the Russians are playing diplomatic games, but we hope they are not playing. Our intention is to seriously move diplomacy forward so that its doors remain open and if the Russians are ready for that, they will move through diplomacy," said a White House spokeswoman.

OSCE Calls for Immediate Ceasefire as Situation in Ukraine Deteriorates

OSCE Chairperson-in-Office and Serbian Foreign Minister Ivica Dacic called for an immediate ceasefire on Saturday, as the situation in Ukraine has rapidly deteriorated in the past 24 hours.

Dacic's call comes after more than 20 civilians have been killed and many more injured in the latest clashes between Ukrainian troops and pro-Russian separatists, the Guardian reports.

Serbia condemns use of heavy weapons in civilian areas

VIENNA - The OSCE Permanent Council held a special meeting on Monday concerning the deterioration of the situation in eastern Ukraine, especially the clashes in the civilian parts of Mariupol, and Serbia condemned the use of heavy weaponry.

Serbia, as the OSCE chair, condemned the use of heavy weaponry in civilian areas and called for an immediate stop to hostilities on the ground.
