Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan said on Aug. 14 that Turkey was considering closing its embassy in Abu Dhabi and suspending diplomatic ties with the United Arab Emirates over its accord to normalize ties with Israel.

The Hamas resistance group called on the Palestinian administration Jan. 1 to work together with it and other groups against Israel's decision to withhold millions of dollars in tax funds from Palestinians.

In a statement, Hamas spokesman Hazem Qassem said the decision once again proves the "piracy of Israel."

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan on Aug. 28 urged Tel-Aviv to halt its "occupation attempts" undermining the possibility of a two-state solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.

Speaking at a joint press conference in the capital Ankara after talks with Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas, Erdoğan said a peaceful resolution to the crisis would "also benefit the Israelis."

Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas will hold talks in Ankara on Aug. 28 amid calls for the resumption of negotiations between the Palestinians and Israelis to end the conflict. 

A delegation to Israel and Palestine from Turkey's main opposition Republican People's Party (CHP) has said the Fatah party in Palestine resents being "ignored" by the Turkish government.
