Palestine welcomes Turkey's industrial zone in W Bank

The Palestinian government has welcomed Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan's decision to establish an industrial zone in the West Bank city of Jenin.

Speaking to Anadolu Agency, Palestinian Economy Minister Khaled Al-Osaily said the Turkish support amounts to $10 million and is meant for the internal structure of the industrial zone.

Turkish hospital opens in Gaza Strip

The Palestine-Turkey Friendship Hospital in Gaza began operating as part of efforts to curb the novel coronavirus, Palestine's government said March 31.

Palestinian government spokesman Ibrahim Melhim said President Mahmoud Abbas and his Turkish counterpart,

Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, agreed during a telephone call to start operations at the hospital.

Turkey to deliver aid to Gaza before Eid al-Fitr

Turkey will deliver 10,000 tons of humanitarian aid to Gaza just before the end of the Muslim holy month of Ramadan, the Turkish Foreign Ministry announced late on June 19.        

"Turkey with its people and institutions will continue to support the Palestinian state and people," said the ministry in a statement. 

Palestinian local polls delayed for up to four months

The Palestinian government decided Oct. 4 to delay municipal elections for up to four months after the high court ruled they should be held only in the West Bank and not in the Gaza Strip.
However, a new date for the vote was not set by the government based in the West Bank, the Palestinian territory run by President Mahmud Abbas's Fatah party.
