Power transmission company employee electrocuted while cutting branches
An employee of power transmission operator ADMIE has been hospitalized after being electrocuted while cutting branches near power lines in the northwestern region of Florina.
State broadcaster ERT said the accident happened after a branch fell on a high voltage cable.
Herpetologist in intensive care after snakebite
A 40-year-old herpetologist is in intensive care in hospital after being bitten by a viper in a Thessaloniki school.
The incident happened on Friday evening when the volunteer herpetologist - a zoologist who studies reptiles and amphibians - was called to the school to trap a viper spotted by a teacher.

A body was found inside the Covid ward of Papanikolaou Hospital, in Thessaloniki, where a fire broke out after 9 on Wednesday morning.
The fire broke out in the Covid ward of the pulmonology clinic and there are trapped patients in the wards.

Anti-vax lawyer arrested for dissemination of fake news on COVID-19, then released
Greek police arrested anti-vax lawyer Nikos Anastasiadis last night in accordance with a prosecutor's order that cited the "dissemination of fake news" on COVID-19 and "incitement to disobedience".
A preliminary investigation had previously been conducted by the prosecutor's office following complaints by citizens.

ICU head fears third Covid wave
The head of intensive care units at a large Thessaloniki hospital says the system is under intense pressure from the rising number of coronavirus cases and that he fears a third wave of the pandemic early next year.
"The situation is desperate, the ICUs are full," Nikos Kapravelos, head of the ICUs at the Papanikolaou hospital, told Skai TV Sunday.

Thursday Covid-19 death toll raised to four
Two elderly women from a retirement home in northern Greece who where among the 33 of the 150 residents and three staff members who had tested positive for Covid-19 died on Thursday, bringing the daily death toll to four.
The 88-year-old woman was being treated in Thessaloniki's AHEPA hospital and the 91-year-old was in Papanikolaou Hospital.

Two more Covid-19 deaths bring toll to 136, reports say
The death toll from the coronavirus rose to 136 on Monday after two patients being treated in hospitals in northern Greece passed away, reports said.
The two victims are an 80-year-old man who was in the intensive care unit of the Papanikolaou hospital in Thessaloniki and a 59-year-old woman in the ICU of Alexandroupoli's university hospital.
Woman dies from Covid-19; death toll at 114
A 68-year-old woman died in northern Greece on Monday from complications related to Covid-19, bringing the death toll to 114, according to media reports.
The victim was from the northern town of Kastoria and was being treated at the intensive care unit of Papanikolaou Hospital in Thessaloniki.
Reports said she had an underlying illness.
