Parnassos Literary Society

The internationally acclaimed Russian pianist and faculty member at the Tchaikovsky Conservatory in Moscow, Natalia Trull, is coming to Athens to perform a piano recital at the Parnassos Literary Society (8 Georgiou Karytsi, lsparnas.gr). The program is dedicated to Ludwig van Beethoven, showcasing Trull's virtuosity and mastery of the classical repertoire.

The Athens State Orchestra's successful string quartet takes the stage at the Parnassos Literary Society (lsparnas.gr), with a tribute to the First Viennese School. Among the highlights of the program being presented by Apollon Grammatikopoulos and Panagiotis Tziotis on violin, Angela Giannaki on viola and Isidoros Sideris on cello, is Beethoven's String Quartet No 8.

After two successful shows at the Little Theater of Ancient Epidaurus last summer, award-winning Greek musician Petros Klampanis is bringing his new work to the capital's Parnassos Literary Society (Karytsi Square, tel 210.322.1917).

Cretan music expert Giorgos Xylouris, a master of the lute and accomplished singer, has been collaborating with drummer Jim White, co-founder of Australian rock band Dirty Three, on a project dubbed Xylouris White since 2013.

Brazil-born, Berlin-based pianist, singer and composer Dillon (Dominique Dillon de Byington) is making her Greek debut at the Parnassos Literary Society on Wednesday, October 9.

Argentinean pianist Jose Gallardo and German cellist Benedict Kloeckner will inaugurate the new season at the Parnassos Literary Society with a concert titled "Stay Tuned." The two soloists, who have been gaining widespread critical popularity in recent years, will perform selections of Mendelssohn, Chopin, Shostakovich and Piazzolla. The concert starts at 8.30 p.m.

Japanese ambient music pioneer Midori Takada will be appearing at the Parnassos Literary Society on Sunday, June 2.

Ambassadors and other members of the diplomatic missions of Austria, China, the Czech Republic, Georgia, Germany, Italy, Japan, Kazakhstan, Luxembourg, Moldova, Montenegro, the Palestinian Authority, Romania and Ukraine will perform a charity concert in aid of the SOS Children's Villages at the Parnassos Literary Society on Wednesday, April 10.

Renowned for flamenco compositions and performances influenced by Claude Debussy and modern jazz, David Pena Dorantes, a Romani pianist and composer from Andalusia, will perform at the Parnassos Literary Society on Monday, March 18. The performance starts at 8 p.m.

The Stoart Gallery puts the spotlight on two important Greek women artists who showed their work together at a landmark show at the Parnassos Literary Society in 1906 that met with great critical acclaim. The more than 100 works by Thalia Flora-Karavia (1871-1960), a proponent of the Munich School, and Sophia Laskaridou (1876-1965) shed light on their evolution as artists.
