The unofficial results of the parliamentary election on May 14 have revealed that the People's Alliance led by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan's ruling Justice and Development Party (AKP) garnered 321 lawmakers as the opposition Nation Alliance remained at 213.

Azerbaijani President İlham Aliyev has called President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan to congratulate him for the May 14 elections that pledged a majority to Erdoğan-led People's Alliance at the parliament while bringing the presidential race to the second round.

A statement from the president's office informed that Aliyev and Erdoğan spoke over the phone in the early hours of May 15.

The unofficial results of the parliamentary election on May 14 showed that the People's Alliance - formed by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan's ruling Justice and Development Party (AKP), the Nationalist Movement Party (MHP), the New Welfare Party (YRP) and the Great Union Party (BBP) - garnered the most lawmakers in the parliament

• More than 64 million Turkish citizens are eligible to vote in the polls. They will choose between three presidential candidates and 36 parties in 87 electoral districts.
• Voters will decide the fate of President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and his ruling Justice and Development Party, AKP as they face a united democratic opposition.

As President Erdogan finds himself in troubled waters after ruling the country for 21 years, the political atmosphere is tense and both sides predict victory.

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has stated that the ruling Justice and Development Party's (AKP) success is due to the efforts and sincerity of all the people who have not withheld their support the past 21 years, on a social media post.

The Supreme Election Board (YSK) has determined the order of the propaganda speeches of the presidential candidates and political parties on state broadcaster TRT with a lot drawing.

The 10-minute propaganda speeches of the four presidential candidates and political parties will be held on May 7 and May 13 on the TRT screens.

Nine female candidates will race in the May 14 elections to enter the parliament from Burdur, one of the 20 provinces in Türkiye that has never had a female deputy throughout the history of the republic.

The elections Türkiye will hold on May 14 will observe the competition of two different mentalities and visions for the future of Türkiye, President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has said, stressing the outcome of these elections will determine the next half-century of the country.

A total of 13 out of 26 political parties that submitted their parliamentary candidate lists to the Supreme Election Board (YSK) will enter May 14 elections on their own, while 13 others will run under alliances.
