Major killed in PKK attack laid to rest in Ankara
A Turkish major, who was killed Sept. 26 in an attack by suspected members of the outlawed Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) in the eastern province of Tunceli, was laid to rest in Ankara on Sept. 27.

Turkey sees rise in voters ahead of Nov. 1 poll
Turkey's early election slated for Nov. 1 has seen a considerable increase in the number of registered voters, the country's Supreme Election Board (YSK) has revealed.
The board says that more than 54 million people are registered to vote in Turkey while almost 2.9 million people will be able to cast their votes from outside the country.

Solution of Kurdish problem cannot be achieved by military: CHP leader
Turkey's Kurdish problem cannot be solved solely by military means, but with consensus and "brotherhood," Republican People's Party (CHP) head Kemal K?l?çdaro?lu has said.
Speaking at a party meeting during his election campaign trip in Europe on Sept. 25, K?l?çdaro?lu said the issue could not currently be resolved because politicians have "endorsed the case to the military."
