After a number of European media outlets published disturbing footage of a violent migrant pushback on Croatian territory last week, government officials condemned the incident - but insisted it was an act of individuals, not of the police as an institution.

According to the Belgrade media, the lawsuit was filed by the Police Union.
The news about the lawsuit was first conveyed to the media by Vesna Vojvodi Mitrovi from the Branch Trade Union of Education Workers of Serbia "Nezavisnost" in an author's text published by Blic.

Two police officers in Presevo, southern Serbia, in early October rescued two babies left next to a fence by their refugee parents, the Police Union has said.

The organization issued a statement on Tuesday asking the authorities to publicly commend the officers.
