Record number of WWI grenades found at construction site in Turkey
While digging a building pit in province of Balıkesir's Bandırma district in Marmara region on April 25, construction workers found more than 830 hand grenades that are thought to be remnants of World War I.
Of the 831 hand grenades, 420 were still active, bomb disposal officers of local police force said.
Over 714 kg of heroine seized in Turkey
Turkish security forces seized more than 714 kilograms (1,574 pounds) of heroin on July 23.
In one operation, police in İpekyolu district of eastern Van province captured more than 265 kilos (584 pounds) of heroin and arrested two suspects on allegations of drug trafficking, according to a statement by the provincial police department.

Traffic accidents reduced in Istanbul amid COVID-19
Traffic accidents declined nearly 35 percent in Istanbul province as a result of stay at home orders amid the coronavirus pandemic, according to the provincial police department.
While the traffic density was around 65 percent during working hours before the government closed schools, density was 27 percent March 16, the day schools were closed.
Over 100,000 liters of smuggled fuel seized in Turkey
Some 107,300 liters (around 28,345 gallons) of smuggled fuel were seized in an operation held in western Turkey, according to security sources on Jan. 13.
Acting on a tip-off, the provincial police department launched an operation in the Bornova district of Izmir, the source said on condition of anonymity due to restriction on talking to the media.

Turkish theology professor accused of downloading child porn
An investigation has been launched into a theology professor at Trakya University for downloading and storing child pornography after the provincial police department in Edirne was tipped off by the FBI.
The FBI warned Edirne's provincial police department and its cybercrimes unit that a resident had been downloading and storing child porn on his or her computer.
Two security forces killed due to PKK attacks
