Sabic: Gov't fails to carry out Commissioner's decisions

BELGRADE - Serbia's Commissioner for Information of Public Importance and Personal Data Protection Rodoljub Sabic has said that the institution has put into procedure 93 percent of the requests for information in 2013, but in none of these cases had the Serbian government ensured implementation of the Commissioner's decisions or had the offenders prosecuted.

EIB ready to help local self-government units

BELGRADE - Representatives of the European Investment Bank (EIB) said in the talks with Serbian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Public Administration and Local Self-Government Kori Udovicki that EIB is ready to redirect a part of the funds from loans for various projects that are already in the procedure to the purposes of recovery of flooded areas.

Udovicki: Main change - RIK to conduct elections

BELGRADE - Serbian Minister of Public Administration and Local Self-Government Kori Udovicki said Monday that the main change proposed by the bill on amendments to the Law on National Councils of National Minorities is for the Republic Electoral Commission (RIK) to be in charge of conducting council elections and not the Ministry, as was the case so far.

Davenport, Udovicki on EU activities in local administration

BELGRADE - Kori Udovicki, Serbia's Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Public Administration and Local Self-Government, conferred on Wednesday with Head of EU Delegation to Serbia Michael Davenport on activities and support of the European Union to the reform of public administration in Serbia.

Ministers take office

BELGRADE, April 29 (Tanjug) - After the election of a new government, new ministers took office from their predecessors in almost all departments on Monday.

Interior Minister Nebojsa Stefanovic took over from Ivica Dacic.

Dacic took over from Ivan Mrkic as foreign minister.
