BELGRADE - Serbia has had the highest e-government development index in Europe over the past two years, the 2016 UN e-government survey shows, according to a statement from the Ministry of Public Administration and Local Self-Government said.

Strike Wave Threatens Romania Ahead of Polls
Some 12,000 Romanian health professionals plan to stage a warning strike next week, demanding higher pay, better conditions and more investment in the cash-starved healthcare system.

Vucic holds consultations ahead of Trepca decision
BELGRADE - Serbian PM Aleksandar Vucic on Sunday held a series of consultations ahead of a final decision on the actions Serbia will take regarding the Trepca mining complex and the agreement on telecommunications with Pristina, the Blic daily reported.
Vucic postponed a government session until Tuesday to have more time for consultations.

Serb Census in Northern Kosovo Faces Obstacles
The chair of the Kosovo parliament's Commission for Public Administration, Zenun Pajaziti, told BIRN that his commission had approved a draft document for a census to be held in northern Kosovo, which now has to be put on the parliamentary agenda.
The census in the four northern municipalities was planned for this autumn, the Deputy Minister of Local Government, Bajram Gecaj, added.

BELGRADE - Serbia will be able to rely on Slovakia's assistance on the way to the European Union, as its experts will share their experience from Slovakia's EU accession process to assist Serbia's public administration workers in creating a more professional, abler and better prepared public administration in Serbia.

The Ministry for Public Administration is therefore preparing a plan to improve the pay system and reduce anomalies. Advantages should be seen in the consistent implementation of the reward structures and equal salaries for comparable roles.
