DYPA policies help more than 50,000 jobless find work
Over 50,000 unemployed people benefited from the active employment policies of the Public Employment Service (DYPA) within 2023, although it is not known exactly how many of them remain in the labor market immediately after the end of the program in which they participated.
November records a 14.2% month-on-month increase in unemployment
Registered unemployment reached 1,028,123 individuals in November, reflecting a 14.2% month-on-month increase (127,826 people), as reported by the Public Employment Service on Wednesday.
However, there was a 3.1% year-on-year decrease (33,296 individuals) in registered unemployment for November.
Social housing policy funding to increase
The government plans to make total funding of 1.5 billion euros available over the coming years as part of its goal to reactivate social housing.

Registered jobless in Greece down 6% in June
Registered unemployment fell by 55,198 people, or 6%, in June compared with the same month last year, but rose 1.4% in comparison with May 2023, official figures showed on Thursday.

Employment service official arrested for bribery
Police have arrested an official of the Public Employment Service (DYPA) on suspicion of bribery and breach of duty.
Investigators believe that the official unlawfully deleted fines on companies for the late notification of voluntary departures of employees in return for bribes.
