Geopolitical theories regarding geographical boundaries have been used historically by aspiring conquerors to justify their ambitions.

The most glaring case was that of Adolf Hitler, who believed that Germany was suffocating within its existing borders and that its interests extended to broader geographical areas, at least those with German populations.

The Port of Rafina, the second largest in the country in terms of passenger traffic, after Piraeus, is also, together with Piraeus, the port that secured financing from European funds to create electrification infrastructure for passenger ships.

Officers of the Rafina Port Authority on Thursday detained a 39-year-old man alleged to have physically abused a dog. The suspect was arrested after a local resident informed the authorities about the alleged abuse, details of which were not made public.

Penalties for animal abuse have been toughened several times in recent years as cases have proliferated.
