Greece leads in Recovery Fund absorption, reforms
The Recovery and Resilience Fund enabled investments that otherwise would not have been made or would have been significantly delayed, Minister of National Economy and Finance Kostis Hatzidakis emphasized in his intervention at the ECOFIN meeting in Luxembourg on Friday.

Less growth, numerous risks
The Bank of Greece has lowered its forecast for this year's growth to 2.3% from 2.5% and is fully aligned with the latest estimates of the European Commission, against the budget's estimate for 2.9%.
The BoG's downgrade, the second since December, followed data on last year's growth, which, while outpacing the eurozone average, came in at a slower pace of 2%.

Railway projects may have been left out of RRF financing
PASOK deputy Pavlos Geroulanos claims to have revealed a list of projects that have been excluded from funding by the Recovery and Resilience Fund (RRF), using details from the council of European Union ministers, including the safety upgrading of the rail network.
Paid afternoon surgeries introduced in health system
Aiming to speed up services to patients on waiting lists for regular surgeries, the Health Ministry is planning to introduce paid afternoon operations at the National Health Service (ESY).
The move is expected to increase afternoon surgeries by at least 20%, while also making the position of surgeon and anesthesiologist in the ESY more attractive.
