Evros residents denounce visiting migration minister
Residents of Orestiada in the Evros border region in northwestern Greece greeted visiting Migration Minister Notis Mitarakis on Monday with a hail of stones, firecrackers, eggs and plastic cups of coffee to express their opposition to government plans to increase the capacities of the local reception and identification center for asylum seekers and the pre-departure detention facility.

Today is the World Hypertension Day. It was first inaugurated in May 2005 and has become an annual event ever since. Cardiovascular diseases remain the main cause of death in the world, and in Bulgaria they occupy the first place as a cause of death and disability.

Northern Greece wants referendum on name deal
A resolution to this effect was passed in Thessaloniki on Wednesday during a meeting of the Regional Council of Central Macedonia attended by 258 local government representatives including mayors and councilors, as well as bishops and representatives of institutions, and universities.

Power Cut Off All Over Bulgaria
The electricity situation is serious in the region of Varna. Regional governor Stoyan Pasev announced that power has been cut off in the municipalities of Devnya and Suvorovo, while all 12 villages in Dalgopol have no electricity. Only the central municipality has power.

Expo Milano 2015: Greece to showcase its high-quality Mediterranean products
Expo Milano 2015 will take place from October 25 through to October 28 with the participation of the Attica region. A Greek pavilion will be set up with the best of Mediterranean products.
Bulgaria's North Central Region Proposes Canal Between Ruse, Varna
A proposal for the construction of a sailing canal between the Bulgarian cities of Ruse and Varna was adopted at a sitting of the Regional council for development of the North central region.
The meeting was attended by representatives of the districts included in the region - Veliko Tarnovo, Gabrovo, Razgrad, Ruse and Silistra, daily Dnevnik reports.
Strategy on cultural cooperation in region adopted
BELGRADE - Serbian Minister of Culture and Information Ivan Tasovac is staying in his first official visit to Macedonia, during which he participated in the Annual Meeting of the Council of Ministers of Culture of South East Europe, during which the Regional strategy on cooperation in the culture sector in South-East European countries was adopted on Saturday.
