Parliament: Motion of no-confidence rejected
The Joint Chambers of Parliament rejected on Wednesday the motion of no-confidence "Ousting the Dragnea - Dancila government, a national emergency!", signed by the National Liberal Party (PNL), Save Romania Union (USR) and People Movement's Party (PMP).
The vote tally counted 166 votes for the motion and 4 against.

Parliament/No-confidence motion/Barna: Romania urgently needs competent government, not puppet at service of convicted criminal
Save Romania Union (USR) leader Dan Barna stated on Wednesday in Parliament's plenum that his party will vote for the no-confidence motion, the only way forward into Europe, highlighting that our country urgently needs a competent government, "not a puppet one, at the service of a convicted criminal."

Prime Minister Viorica Dancila stated on Wednesday in Parliament's plenum she was not expecting the entire no-confidence motion, signed by the National Liberal Party (PNL), Save Romania Union (USR) and People Movement's Party (PMP), to be "a sequence of fabrications."

Romania's Social Democrats Poised for Comeback to Power
The Social Democrat Party (PSD) is in for a big win in the general election held in Romania on Sunday, exit poll projections show.
If confirmed, the result could bring the left-wing party back into power after resigning over last year's protests.
The PSD got 45.2% of the vote, acording to the Center for Urban and Regional Sociology (CURS), quoted by AGERPRES.
Romanians Going to Polls under New Voting Rules
Voting has begun in Romania in a regular parliamentary election, with social democrats and liberals will be vying to get the biggest number of seats.
Some 18.9 million Romanians are eligible to cast ballots. The voting day started at 07:00 local time (EET).
