Romania on Alert Following Brussels Attacks
Four Romanian citizens, including a child, were wounded in the terror attacks on the airport and metro in Brussels, the Romanian Foreign Ministry confirmed on Wednesday.
The child is hospitalized and under the care of a relative, while of the other three casualties, one has been released and two remain under medical supervision.

Poll: 52 pct of Romanians say anticorruption, intelligence agencies should have free hand in investigations
More than half of the Romanians (52 pct) believe that the National Anticorruption Directorate (DNA) and the Romanian Intelligence Service (SRI) should have "free hand in investigations, even if some rights and liberties are questioned," according to an opinion barometer by Avangarde released on Friday.

Country's Supreme Defence Council to check magistrates if undercover officers
The Superior Council of Magistracy (CSM) has decided on Wednesday to notify the Country's Supreme Defence Council (CSAT) with a view to check upon all magistrates in order to find out whether they are or not undercover officers with some intelligence service, a release by the CSM told AGERPRES.

President Iohannis approves nomination of former intelligence director Maior as ambassador to US
President Klaus Iohannis has approved on Thursday the nomination of former Romanian Intelligence Service (SRI) director George Maior as ambassador to the United States, the Presidential Administration announced.

Tax evaders searched; over 3-million-euro fraud
Prosecutors and police officers are conducting today 75 domiciliary visits in Bucharest City and the counties of Ilfov, Timis, Calarasi, Buzau, Teleorman, Bacau, Prahova and Ialomita and enforcing 58 summons in a 3-million-euro fraud from tax evasion and money laundering.
