Royal Opera House ends 33-year BP funding deal
The UK's Royal Opera House announced on Jan. 25 that it had ended its 33-year sponsorship deal with energy giant BP following pressure and protests from environmentalists.

London drops Bolshoi, Eurovision bars Russia
The Royal Opera House has canceled a planned tour to London by Moscow's Bolshoi Ballet, while the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) has said that Russia will not be allowed an entry in this year's Eurovision Song Contest because of the country's invasion of Ukraine.

Dancers of Royal Ballet rehearsing for reopening
Royal Ballet dancer Anna Rose O'Sullivan last performed to London audiences in "The Nutcracker" in December. She played Clara in a handful of shows and was to debut as the Sugar Plum Fairy when the COVID-19 pandemic once again shut down entertainment venues.

The Greek National Opera inaugurates its 2019-20 season with Vincenzo Bellini's "La Sonnambula," in a grand co-production with the Vienna State Opera and the Royal Opera House. Directed by Marco Arturo Marelli, who sets the action in a sanatorium, the production is conducted by Philippe Auguin, with Agathangelos Georgakatos leading the chorus, and costumes designed by Dagmar Niefind.

'Jewels' on Zorlu PSM screen
The Royal Opera House screenings of Zorlu PSM will continue with George Balanchine's ballet "Jewels" on May 26.
The three-act ballet created by George Balanchine premiered in 1967 at the New York State Theater.
