Musical director of the National Orchestra of France Cristian Macelaru, a world-renown conductor, will join the gallery of ambassadors of the Vest University of Timisoara (UVT), by receiving a UVT honorary doctorate at a time to be determined.

Patti Smith to stand in for Bob Dylan at Nobel Prize ceremonies
Though Bob Dylan will not be attending the Nobel prize award ceremony in Stockholm due to “pre-exisiting engagements,” he is sending musician and singer Patti Smith in his stead.
La Traviata Conducted by Ljubka Biagioni to Debut in Sofia on February 14
Giuseppe Verdi's opera "La Traviata" with conductor Ljubka Biagioni will be performed for the first time in Hall 1 of the National Palace of Culture (NDK) in the Bulgarian capital of Sofia on February 14.
The soloists on the stage will be Marta Torbidoni - soprano, Mihail Mihaylov - tenor and Anton Keremedtchiev - baritone.
Royal Philharmonic plays Turkish diva's songs
The world-renowned British Royal Philharmonic Orchestra interpreted the songs of Sezen Aksu, known as the diva of Turkish pop music, for an exclusive concert accompanied by the Istanbul Philharmonic Orchestra on Dec. 10.
The orchestra, directed by famous Italian maestro Marcello Rota, interpreted Aksu's songs as her journey through the music world marks its 40th anniversary.
