Turkish fishermen in Black Sea closely watch navy boats

Turkish fisherman Şahin Afsüt fears the worst: Hitting a mine and "disappearing underwater in the blink of an eye."

Like many fishermen in Rumelifeneri, a village set on the rocks of the Bosphorus in northern Istanbul, Afsüt and his team remain in port since the discovery of a drifting mine last month in the Black Sea.

Turkey can conduct evacuation from Mariupol by sea: Defense Minister

Turkey can provide ship support for the evacuation of civilians and injured Turkish and other nationals in Mariupol through the sea, Defense Minister Hulusi Akar said on April 3.

"In this context, our coordination with authorities of the Russian Federation and Ukraine continues," Akar said.

Eight of theRussian Aircraft Crew Crashed in Turkey Were Killed

All those on board of the Be-200 amphibious aircraft that crashed in Turkey were killed, the Russian Defense Ministry told reporters on Saturday.

"The five crew members of the Russian Be-200 aircraft that crashed in the Republic of Turkey and three citizens of the Republic of Turkey who were pointing out fire locations were killed," the ministry said.

No survivors of firefighting plane crash in southern Turkey

A firefighting plane linked to Turkey's General Directorate of Forestry crashed in the southern province of Kahramanmaraş on Aug. 14, killing all eight people on board.

Contact was lost with the plane which had been rented from Russia to help Turkey's efforts to contain a forest fire in Kahramanmaraş, Governor Ömer Faruk Coşkun told Anadolu Agency.

Erdoğan thanks Russian counterpart for supporting fight against wildfires

An information campaign against the Russian coronavirus vaccine bankrolled from abroad is underway, Russian Defense Ministry Spokesman Major General Igor Konashenkov told reporters.

"We know in detail what funds and resources have been earmarked from abroad to discredit the domestic vaccine in the world and in Russia," he said.
