Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov has blamed the European Union for having suspended "the mutually beneficial architecture of cooperation" and for pushing to "shut Russia out," following a meeting with his Portuguese counterpart Augusto Santos Silva in Moscow.
NATO Scales up Black Sea Presence to Counter Alleged Russian Threat
NATO is boosting its presence in the Black Sea, the organization's Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg said after a meeting with Ukrainian Prime Minister Denis Shmygal. The alliance attributed this move to the allegedly growing Russian threat. Kiev and NATO plan to hold joint military drills in Odessa this year, Izvestia writes.
Turkey-Russia Syria Truce Won’t Last
The agreement consists of only three articles. First, a ceasefire starting from Friday March 6. Second, a security corridor will be established between Syrian rebels and government forces. Third, Russia and Turkey will jointly patrol the security corridor from March 15.
The new deal touched on the migrant crisis but did not include a solution.
