TÜBİTAK's space-qualified solar panel ready for use
A space-qualified solar panel developed by the Marmara Research Center (MAM) of the Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey (TÜBİTAK) will be the basic load on Turkey's first indigenous high-resolution observation satellite, Imece, planned to be launched to space in 2022.

A new endemic cornflower species has been found in the Hekimhan district of the eastern province of Malatya.
Minister volunteers in local vaccine trial
Industry and Technology Minister Mustafa Varank has volunteered to take part in the phase 1 human trial of a vaccine candidate against COVID-19 that is being developed at Ankara Oncology Hospital.
Varank received the first shot of the vaccine based on virus-like particles' technology.

With the possibility that the sea level in Istanbul's Bosphorus Strait might rise by 3 to 5 meters, there are fears that buildings along the strait's shore might submerge if the temperature increases by 3 degrees Celsius by the end of the century, according to a parliamentary report.
Turkey working on six virus vaccine candidates
Turkey is supporting six projects on vaccine development against the coronavirus, including the one in the form of a nasal spray, the head of the Health Institutes of Turkey (TÜSEB) has said.

Turkey eases stay-at-home measures for over-65s, under-18s
Turkey will relax stay-at-home measures for people over 65 years old and those under 18, President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan said on June 9.
Around 7.5 million over-65s will now be able to go out every day from 10 am to 8 pm, Erdoğan said, relaxing a measure that had almost entirely forbidden them from going outside since March 21.
