Oklahoma state House approves bill to make abortion illegal

The Oklahoma House gave final legislative approval on Tuesday to a bill that would make performing an abortion a felony, punishable by up to 10 years in prison.

With little discussion and no debate, the Republican-controlled House voted 70-14 to send the bill to Republican Gov. Kevin Stitt, who has previously said he'd sign any anti-abortion bill that comes to his desk.

Biden poised to nominate first Black woman on Supreme Court

As President Joe Biden prepares to nominate the first Black woman to the Supreme Court, several leading candidates for the coveted seat on the nation's highest court have emerged.

The Democratic president has said he will reveal his choice by the end of February, and has interviewed three potential nominees so far according to US media.

Putin Received Permission to use the Russian Army Abroad

A request for the use of Russian armed forces abroad by President Vladimir Putin in the Federation Council (upper house of parliament) has been approved. Such a request came a little earlier today, as previously announced by Senate President Valentina Matvienko.

According to her, the Council will consider the request in an open session.

France approves returning 15 artworks stolen from Jews

The French senate on Feb. 15 approved the return of 15 artworks looted from Jews during World War II, as part of efforts by the government to accelerate restitutions.

The vote authorizes public museums holding the works, including the world-famous Musee d'Orsay in Paris, to hand over the property to the heirs of the original owners.

Brnabic to meet Prime Minister of France

During the visit, Prime Minister Brnabic will meet with the Governor of the Central European Bank, Carlo Monticelli, and a meeting with the Secretary of State for Foreign Trade, Franck Riester, is also planned.
Serbian Prime Minister will also have a working breakfast with the representatives of French companies, organized by the Senate and MEDEF International.

New US ambassador presents credentials to President Erdoğan

The United States' new ambassador to Turkey, Jeffrey Lane Flake, presented his credentials to President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan on Jan. 26.

Flake, a former Republican senator, arrived in Turkey on Jan. 7 , replacing David Satterfield, who will serve as the U.S. special envoy to the Horn of Africa.
