Prosecutors in Bosnia and Herzegovina's Republika Srpska entity are investigating Bosnian Serb MP Jelena Doric following a complaint over her appointment as acting director of the entity's roads authority in apparent violation of a law concerning conflict of interest.

Kosovo Serb MP Dodges Jail Term for Inciting Ethnic Hatred
Ivan Todosijevic, a Kosovo Serb MP from the Belgrade-backed Srpska Lista party, did not appear on Wednesday at noon as ordered by the court to begin his two-year prison sentence for inciting ethnic, racial or religious intolerance.
Florent Gashi, spokesperson for the Kosovo Correctional Service told BIRN that "the person in question so far has not appeared to serve his sentence".
Bosnian Serb MP Banned from Entering the US
The US State Department on Monday barred Nikola Spiric, a Serb MP in Bosnia's state-level parliament, alleging that he has been involved in "significant corruption or gross violations of human rights".

Kosovo Serbs Complain of 'Pressure' to Attend Vucic Rally
Some Kosovo Serb representatives say that employees of institutions funded by Serbia in Kosovo are being pressured to attend a rally in support of President Aleksandar Vucic, and fear reprisals if they do not show up.
Dodik to run for Serb seat in Bosnia-Herzegovina Presidency
RS Prime Minister Zeljka Cvijanovic will be Dodik's SNSD party candidate to replace him as president of the Serb entity.
The general elections in BiH will be held on October 7.
Serbian FM receives Ghana's parliament speaker
According to the Serbian government, they "assessed that there are traditionally friendly relations between the two countries, which have a long and rich history dating from the time of acquiring Ghanaian independence."
Dacic, recalling those relations that have existed for decades between Serbia and Ghana, have pledged to strengthen cooperation in all areas of common interest.

Vucic announces visit to France while in Paris
The president's cabinet said that he would then meet with French counterpart Emmanuel Macron.
Vucic was in Paris today for the annual meeting of the European Council on Foreign Relations (ECFR).

Syria recognizes Abkhazia, S. Ossetia as independent states
the administration of the president of Abkhazia also announced that Syria has recognized its independence, Sputnik in Serbian reported on Tuesday.
"Abkhazia and Syria have announced the mutual recognition and establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries at the embassy level, reflecting their common aspiration to develop relations in all areas," the document says.
Kosovo parliament - No debate on election law
PRISTINA - Serb MPs walked out of the Friday's sitting of the Kosovo parliament, which was scheduled to debate on amendments to the election law, in which they were joined by the representatives of ethnic communities.
The parliament sitting was suspended over lack of quorum and will most likely resume next week.
