Man dies in his home during flash floods

BANJA KOVILJAČA -- A man drowned in the basement of his home in Banja Koviljača, western Serbia, when flash flooding hit the area late on Tuesday.

The daily Večernje Novosti writes on Wednesday that Mišo Đurić went into the basement to "close the window" and prevent the water getting in, but was overpowered by it.

Belgrade Luxury Complex Gets Court Go-Ahead

A luxury complex of 140,000 square metres is set to be built on the banks of the Danube in the centre of Belgrade after a court ruling ended years of disputes about ownership.

BELGRADE - Serbian Defense Minister Bratislav Gasic and Egyptian Ambassador to Serbia Menha Mahrous Bakhoum conferred Tuesday on the development of defense cooperation programs, and agreed that a bilateral defense cooperation agreement should be concluded as soon as possible in order to establish a legal framework for future joint projects.
