Serbian Court Criticised for Convicting Journalist of Inciting Revolt

Zeljko Bodrozic, president of the Independent Association of Journalists of Serbia, NUNS, said on Tuesday that the verdict sentencing journalist Milovan Brkic to 14 months in jail was proof that the country's judiciary has become an arm of the ruling Serbian Progressive Party.

The situation in Northern Kosovo is calm this morning after yesterday's conflict between the Kosovo police and local citizens, Serbian TV RTS reported.

Serbia Ruling Party Official Sentenced for Arson Attack on Journalist’s House

Dragoljub Simonovic, the former president of the Belgrade municipality of Grocka and a member of the ruling Serbian Progressive Party, SNS, has been sentenced to five years in prison for inciting other persons to jeopardize the life of journalist Milan Jovanovic.

Two sessions of the SNS tomorrow: Presidency session, followed by the SNS Main Board

The introductory part of the session of the Main Board will be open to the media, when President Aleksandar Vui will address the public, after which the session will be closed to the public. Also, after the session, statements for the media are planned.
