Turkish first lady, foreign minister visit Rohingya refugees in Bangladesh, distribute aid

First lady Emine Erdoğan and Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu visited Rohingya refugees in Bangladesh alongside a Turkish delegation on Sept. 7. 

"It's impossible not to be effected [by the situation] as a human. May God help them," Erdoğan said after visiting the Kutupalong Camp, housing Rohingya Muslims who have fled from violence in Myanmar since Aug. 25.

Turkish president's son loses case against journalist

The son of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdo?an has lost a defamation case against a journalist who had reported an alleged corruption case.

Bilal Erdo?an sued daily Cumhuriyet reporter Canan Co?kun over a story published by the newspaper on Sept. 13, 2014. He claimed that the article ?insulted? him and demanded compensation.

CHP leader challenges PM Erdoğan on bank claims

Main opposition Republican People’s Party (CHP) leader Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu has challenged Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, vowing to pay the latter’s attorney’s fee if he is willing to prove that he does not have eight Swiss bank accounts, as was claimed in a Wikileaks document back in 2010.
