Employees under 35 years old, as well as those who to date have not been insured in an auxiliary pension fund will have the option as of this year to switch from the Single Social Security Fund (EFKA) to the Supplementary Social Security Fund (TEKA).

Discount for the timely payment of contributions

Problematic legacy
The previous government's omission to place a cap on pensions shows that the so-called Katrougalos law on social security (named after former labor minister Giorgos Katrougalos, who introduced it) was haphazardly drafted.
This is after all why many of its clauses, so many years after it was passed in Parliament, remain unenforced.

Tax inspectors bashed in Halkidiki
Three tax inspectors at the EFKA Single Social Security Fund have filed a complaint saying that they were verbally and physically attacked by a business owner in Kassandra in Halkidiki, northern Greece.
The alleged incident reportedly occurred on Saturday during an inspection of the 49-year-old man's industrial cleaning company.
