PM Ponta: Government to issue emergency ordinance on elected local officials
The government will issue an emergency ordinance on Thursday that allows elected local officials opting within 45 days for another party, without thus losing the places they won, Prime Minister Victor Ponta.
Ukraine Separatists Hail Arrival of Serb Volunteers
The Prime Minister of the breakaway pro-Russian enclave in eastern Ukraine, the Republic of Donetsk, on Monday said 14 Serbian volunteers had joined his embattled forces.
Aleksandr Zakharchenko said his troops were drawing volunteers from all over the world, Russia's NTV reported.

Serbia plans to penalise locals who go off to fighting in foreign conflicts, jailing those who organise volunteers by up to 12 years, while the fighters themseslves could get from one to five years.

Romanian PM Ponta to Run for Presidency
The executive board of the ruling Social Democratic Party, PSD, on Tuesday was due to announce that Victor Ponta will run for the party in the presidential elections in November, when Traian Basescu's term expires.
While Ponta, 42, is widely tipped to win the vote, according to polls, the Prime Minister himself said the race was wide open.
