French far right wins record votes in first poll since attacks
France's far-right National Front (FN) saw record gains in the first round of regional polls Sunday, held under a state of emergency just three weeks after Islamic extremists killed 130 people in Paris.
Despite the strong result, it faces an uphill battle to clinch a run-off vote next week after Socialists withdrew candidates in an attempt to block it from power.

Albania MP Resigns Over His Criminal Past
Ndoka, 41, delivered his resignation on Monday, hours after another MP from the Socialist Party had his immunity lifted after being arrested on Saturday.
In the resignation letter, Ndoka claimed that he was wrongly sentenced in Italy and that he was innocent of charges of trafficking.

Albania Arrests MP After Shooting
Prenga, 41, was arrested in the early hours of Saturday by the police in his hometown of Lac, 40 kilometres north of Tirana, accused of opening fire with a pistol and injuring Tom Cali, a 66-year-old fisherman, during a brawl that left seven people injured.
