Seventh Attempt Fails: Sofia Municipal Council Struggles to Elect Chairman

In the latest setback for the Sofia Municipal Council, attempts to elect a chairman have faltered for the seventh time. The run-off vote featured Tsvetomir Petrov from the coalition "We Continue the Change - Democratic Bulgaria (WCC-DB) - Spasi Sofia," securing 26 votes, while Diana Tonova, the Bulgarian Socialist Party (BSP) candidate, trailed with only 9 votes.

'Vision for Sofia' Presented a Program For the Development of the Capital Until 2050

For the first time yesterday,Vision for Sofia presented 24 long-term goals and nearly 250 steps for the development of the Sofia Municipality. They are expected to be voted on immediately after the local elections in the autumn at a meeting of the Sofia City Council. The priorities are environment and urban environment, transport, people, governance, economy, identity and culture.

Sofia Municipality Will Give Аpproximately BGN 8 Мillion for Chimney Filters against the Dirty Air

The Metropolitan Municipality has announced an order for the supply and installation of household chimney filters that use wood and coal for heating. The estimated budget is BGN 7.92 million with VAT. The plan is to initially buy up to 1000 pieces, and subsequently, possibly more.

Increase in the Salaries of the Drivers in the Public Transport in Sofia with 30%

Yordanka Fandakova will propose to the Sofia City Council to adopt an agreement for lifting the salaries of the drivers in the public transport with 10% for three consecutive years, Econ.bg. The Mayor's proposal is after a meeting today with the leaders of the Confederation of Independent Trade Unions and the Confederation of Labour ''Podkrepa''.
