Ivan Geshev: We Busted An Arms and Drug Trafficking Group from Bulgaria to the UK

A group for arms and drug trafficking from Bulgaria to the United Kingdom has been busted. The gang sent guns, automatic weapons, bullet-proof vests and heroin from Sofia to the Island by courier parcels, Deputy Prosecutor General Ivan Geshev said.

A Large-scale Migrant Trafficking Network has been Revealed

A large-scale operation is under way on the territory of Bulgaria, Belgium, France, the Netherlands and the United Kingdom, to neutralize an organized criminal group operating on the territory of the five countries and illegally transfer foreign nationals from the countries of Afghanistan and Pakistan to European Union countries, reported Bulgarian Prosecutor's Office .

77 Bulgarians in the 'Black List' of the Turkish Interior Ministry Due to Terrorist Threat

77 Bulgarian citizens are included in the "black list" of the Turkish Interior Ministry. Prosecution Charged 8 of the Detained Customs Officers at Kulata Checkpoint

Court Trial on Burgas Assault Still in Deadlock

Once again the Specialized Criminal Court failed to proceed substantively to the case on the blast at the Sarafovo Airport in Burgas in June 2012, when five Israeli tourists and their Bulgarian driver were killed, according to BNR.

The postponing was once again due to problems with the summoning procedures of the  victims and heirs of the perished.

Five Bulgarian Customs Officers to Remain in Custody

The Specialized Criminal Court on Sunday decided to keep five customs officers working at the agency's Varna unit in custody after they had been indicted on corruption charges.

Earlier last week, 25 customs officers were detained as part of an investigation into a corruption scheme the prosecution says had been underway at port Varna - West.

Sarafovo Attack: Bulgarian Court Fails to Launch Trial

Four years after the attack at Sarafovo airport in the Black Sea city of Burgas, the trial for the death of five Israeli tourists and a Bulgarian bus driver has again been adjourned by the Specialized Criminal Court.

The reason cited are procedural irregularities in the summoning of witnesses, including people who were left wounded in the attack.
