Turkish students to train in sports in line with abilities: Ministries

Fifth grade students will undergo tests to determine sports compatible with their talents and body type, and will receive training in the sports respectively, according to a new protocol signed between Turkey's Ministry of Education and Ministry of Youth and Sports. The agreement aims to expand the understanding of academic success while increasing the country's number of licensed sportspeople.

Bulgaria Allocates BGN 2.6 M to Co-Hosting 2018 Volleyball World Championship

At its regular meeting on Wednesday, the Bulgarian government approved additional expenses to the budget of the Sports Ministry for 2016 amounting to BGN 2.6 M.

The financial aid is provided for organising and holding the men's volleyball world championship in 2018 which will be co-hosted by Bulgaria and Italy

Bulgaria to Host ATP 250 Tournament in Sofia in February 2016

The Bulgarian capital Sofia will host its first ever tournament from the ATP World Tour 250 series in 2016.

The tournament will take place in the Arena Armeec hall between February 1 and 7, daily Dnevnik informs.

This was announced by Bulgarian Sports Minister Krasen Kralev and the chairperson of the Bulgarian Tennis Federation Stefan Tsvetkov on Tuesday.

Multifunctional Sports Hall to Open next to Sofia Central Railway Station

A multifunctional sports hall spanning an area of 1500 square meters is to open right next to the Sofia Central Railway Station.
The 48x30 sports hall is almost ready.

It has a separate entrance just a few meters away from the railway station.

The sports hall includes gyms, changing rooms, and coach facilities, according to reports of Darik radio.

Bulgaria's Sport Toto Jackpot Boosted to Minimum of BGN 1 M

Bulgaria will have at least 10 millionaires from its Sport Toto lottery, Sports Minister Krasen Kralev has predicted.

In a Sunday interview with private national bTV channel he reaffirmed commitment to drastic reform in the Bulgarian Sports Totalizator (BST), a digit lottery Bulgaria has been running since 1957.

Woman stabbed by co-worker in ministry building

A woman tea-maker at the Youth and Sport's Ministry in Turkey's capital Ankara was severely wounded after being stabbed six times by a male co-worker on Dec. 16. 

The man, also a tea-maker only identified at F.B., stabbed his colleague, only identified as G.Ç., six times early on Dec. 16 inside the ministry's building in Ankara, reportedly due to money issues.

Serbian Star Ceca Declared Not Guilty of Assault

Belgrade Basic Court on Wednesday ruled that Svetlana Raznatovic and her son-in-law, Predrag Ocokoljic, both from FC Obilic, did not commit a criminal act of bullying or threatening Aleksandar Olarevic, head of the football club Mladi Proleter, in 2007.

The prosecution has the right to appeal the decision to the Appellate Court in Belgrade.
