Milestone in Sofia: First Helipad Joins National Air Emergency System

In a significant development for emergency medical services, the inaugural officially registered helipad in Sofia has been integrated into the national air ambulance system. Transport Minister Georgi Gvozdeykov presented the documents to the director of St. Anna's Hospital in Sofia on January 22, formalizing the helipad's inclusion in the emergency air ambulance service.

Bulgaria Ranks First in Stroke Mortality

Cerebrovascular disease is a leading cause of morbidity and mortality worldwide. Bulgaria is one of the first places in this respect. The mortality rate from strokes is 270.1 for men and 265.1 for women per 100,000 population. In Bulgaria, about 82,398 cases of cerebrovascular diseases are registered annually, of which 35,311 cases are strokes.

Four people were injured in a car crash between six cars at the crossing at Slivnitsa boulevards and Hristo Smirnenski in Varna. This was announced by the Press Office of the Ministry of Interior and Regional Development in Varna.

At around 4.40 p.m., there was a signal for a traffic accident, which occurred at the crossing of Slivnitsa Blvd and Hristo Smirnenski Blvd.

 

7 Hospitals Offer Free Screenings during the Prostate Cancer Awareness Month

In the Prostate Cancer Awareness Month 2017, seven state and municipal hospitals in Sofia are uniting their efforts to increase awareness about the importance of prostate screenings and early detection and prevention, according to the Bulgarian National Television.
