Prison Officers from across the Country Staged a Protest over Low Wages

Prison officers from the prisons and remand centresfrom across Bulgaria staged a protest in the morning on 29th of January in demand of higher wages and better working conditions. They were backed by a statement from their colleagues from the Court Guard unit, and several Ministry of Interior officers who were off duty and joined the protest.

Bulgarian Minister of Defense Wants Foreign Financing of Religious Communities to be Banned

Bulgarian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense Krasimir Karakachanov has told journalists in parliament that funding of religious communities, organizations and religious denominations in Bulgaria from abroad should be banned, reported BGNES.

Thus, according to him, the funding received through foundations by various radical elements in this country would be limited.

Prosecutor General Tsatsarov Moves to Lift Immunity of GERB MP Zhivko Matinov

Prosecutor General Sotir Tsatsarov has moved to lift the immunity of GERB MP Zhivko Martinov, according to BGNES.

The motion comes in the wake of information collected by the anti-corruption unit with the prosecution service, which has been verified by the State Agency for National Security (SANS).

Tomislav Donchev Interrogated About the National Palace of Culture

Yesterday, the Deputy Prime Minister Tomislav Donchev was interrogated by the Prosecutor's Оffice about the National Palace of Culture (NDK), the spokesman of the Prosecutor's office General Rumyana Arnaudova said.

Donchev was the head of the National Palace of Culture in the previous government of GERB.

The Prosecutor's Office Accused Miroslav Borshosh in Corrupt Management of National Palace of Culture

Former director of the National Palace of Culture, Miroslav Borshoch, has been accused of misappropriation of funds and lack of care. This was announced by the Prosecutor's Special Anti-Corruption. Reported by Sega. 

The indictment is an investigation initiated in June on materials from a State Agency for National Security checkup.

State Agency For National Security: 'No data on Bulgarians in Middle East Conflict Zone'

So far, State Agency for National Security (SANS) has no information that Bulgarian citizens are present in the conflict zone in the Middle East, reported bTV.

The comment was made by SANS head Dimitar Georgiev with regard to some information that 77 Bulgarians are banned from entering Turkey.
