The number of people whose applications for humanitarian or refugee status were approved in Bulgaria in 2016 is 971, given a total number of over 16,000 applications, announced the Deputy Chairman of the State Agency for Refugees Daniel Indzhiev.

Bulgarian PM Borisov Receives Death Threat
An anonymous letter with unspecified death threats against Bulgarian Prime Minister Boyko Borisov has been received at the government headquarters in Sofia, public radio broadcaster BNR reported on Monday.
The unsigned enveleope contained a photograph of Borisov with a bullet attached to it, BNR said. The death threats were written in letters cut from a newspaper.

Bulgaria PM Reshuffles Deputies' Portfolios
Bulgarian Prime Minister Boyko Borisov has decided to redistribute the specific porfolios assigned to the four Deputy Prime Ministers, the government's press office has said.
The move is related to the recent appointment of Meglena Kuneva, until then Deputy PM for institutional affairs without a ministerial portfolio, as Education Minister.
