Bulgarian PM Borisov Receives Death Threat

An anonymous letter with unspecified death threats against Bulgarian Prime Minister Boyko Borisov has been received at the government headquarters in Sofia, public radio broadcaster BNR reported on Monday.

The unsigned enveleope contained a photograph of Borisov with a bullet attached to it, BNR said. The death threats were written in letters cut from a newspaper.

Bulgaria PM Reshuffles Deputies' Portfolios

Bulgarian Prime Minister Boyko Borisov has decided to redistribute the specific porfolios assigned to the four Deputy Prime Ministers, the government's press office has said.

The move is related to the recent appointment of Meglena Kuneva, until then Deputy PM for institutional affairs without a ministerial portfolio, as Education Minister.

Between 100 and 200 people are applying on a daily basis for certificates proving their Bulgarian descent.

This was revealed by Ivanka Slavcheva, a chief expert at the State Agency for Bulgarians Abroad, at the opening of the sixth session of the world parliament of Bulgarians.

Bulgaria's National Security Agency To Process Flight Reservation Data

A special unit tasked with processing flight reservation data is to be established at Bulgaria's State Agency for National Security (DANS), according to a set of legal amendments proposed by the government.

The changes to the State Agency for National Security Act are to be submitted to Parliament.

Bulgaria Detains Syrian, Afghan Citizens Citing Security Threat

Bulgarian authorities have detained two men - one from Syria and one from Afghanistan - considered to be a threat to national security, the Interior Ministry said on Wednesday.

The two men were detained in two separate operations in Sofia conducted jointly by the the Interior Ministry Migration Directorate and the State Agency for National Security DANS.
