Bosnia Authorities Investigate Jihadist Website

Bosnian authorities are investigating an Islamist website, Vijesti Ummeta, which uses a wordpress platform to publishing articles in support of ISIS and glorifying the recent mass killing in Paris.

It also republishes propaganda material made by the Islamic State, ISIS, translated into the Bosnian language.

Bosnia Police Doubt Gunman's Link to Islamists

Claims that Enes Omeragic, the man who shot dead two Bosnian soldiers on Wednesday, was part of a radical islamist group, are unlikely, police in the Canton of Sarajevo said.

Muhamed Meco, his brother-in-law, was one of the suspected jihadist recruiters arrested last year in a police operation codenamed Damask.

Sarajevo Gunman's Identity and Suicide Confirmed

Bosnian authorities in the Canton of Sarajevo on Thursday confirmed the identity of the man who killed two soldiers the night before in the suburbs of Sarajevo.

Enes Omeragic shot dead two soldiers and injured another before escaping to his home in the neighborhood of Sokolje, in the western part of Sarajevo.

Two Soldiers Shot Dead in Bosnian Capital

Police in Bosnia's Canton of Sarajevo said a man killed two members of the Bosnian Army inside a betting shop in the suburb of Rajlovac at around 7:30 pm.

The reasons for the attack are unknown but television N1 reported that the attacker shouted the Islamist slogan "Allahu Akbar" before shooting the soldiers. This report has not been confirmed.

Goran Zubac, the director of the State Investigation and Protection Agency, SIPA, was dismissed from his position by the state government on Wednesday after the appeals chamber of Bosnia's state court confirmed a ruling that he was guilty of refusing to dispatch his units to support other police agencies during violent protests in February 2014.
