Katrougalos meets EU foreign policy chief in Brussels
Developments in the Western Balkans and the European Union membership ambitions of countries in the region were at the center of talks between Alternate Foreign Minister Giorgos Katrougalos and the bloc's foreign policy chief Federica Mogherini on Wednesday.
Talks were held on the sidelines of the NATO foreign ministers' meeting at the Alliance's headquarters in Brussels.

Island mayors protest Alpha Bank closures
Alpha Bank has unexpectedly decided to shut its branches on the islands of Tilos, Kasos and Lipsoi, forcing local residents to travel by boat to another island to get their banking done, their mayors said on Tuesday, according to the state-run Athens-Macedonian News Agency.

Train derails in central Greece, injures two
Two women were lightly injured when a passenger train derailed in central Greece early Friday morning, the state-run Athens-Macedonian news agency reported.
The train, which was travelling locally from the town of Lianokladi to Stylida, smashed into the wall of a local railway building as it entered the station in Larissa.

Rain causes flooding in Central Macedonia town
A town in Central Macedonia flooded after days of rain, the head of the region's civil protection department, Babis Stergiadis, told the state-run Athens-Macedonian News Agency on Wednesday.
Stergiadis said the water level behind the prefecture's administrative offices in the town of Polygyros had reached half a meter.
