Cyprus’ trade deficit drops

Cyprus' trade deficit dropped by 17% to 4.31 billion euros for the period of January to July compared to €5.19 billion in the respective period of last year, according to preliminary data published by the Statistical Service of Cyprus (CyStat). 

Cyprus sees surplus soar in H1

Cyprus has reported a substantial budget surplus of 424.5 million euros for the first half of 2024, a huge increase from the €62 million surplus during the same period last year. This improvement is mainly thanks to a significant rise in government revenue, according to the Statistical Service of Cyprus (CyStat).

Cyprus GDP grows

Cyprus' real GDP grew by an annual 3.5% in the first quarter of 2024, and by 3.4% in seasonally adjusted terms, with the construction sector recording the highest both annual and quarterly percentage gains, according to data released by the Statistical Service of Cyprus.

Cyprus trade deficit rose 18% in 2023

The Cyprus trade deficit rose to 8.57 billion euros in 2023, up 18% compared with €7.26 billion in the previous year, according to provisional data released by the Statistical Service of Cyprus (CyStat).

Total imports of goods in January-December 2023 amounted to €12.74 billion compared to €11.47 billion in January-December 2022, recording an increase of 11.3%.
