Tax Office: New out-of-court settlement procedure begins today – Who gets up to a 50% reduction in fines
The tax office offers the opportunity for those who have committed tax violations to reduce the fines imposed on them by up to 50%. However, to secure a reduction in the fines, they must pay 25% of the assessed amount within three days after the settlement.
Land Registry: The Tax Office’s Vigilant Monitoring of the Properties of 7 Million Taxpayers
Starting in September, the “big eye” of the tax office will delve into the real estate of over 7 million taxpayers. The “Property Ownership and Management Register” is a new database that will be connected to the Land Registry.
Changes in the real estate market in 2024
A series of changes are expected in the way property owners are taxed from the beginning of 2024, with most of them focusing on facilitating citizens. Interventions that will change the map in the short-term rental market are also imminent.

Open-air film nights in Ayvalık
Seyir Association (Eye Society- For all watching occasions), which organizes the Ayvalık International Film Festival every year, kicks off the season with the Open Air Film Night Series to be held between June 24 and July 2.
A series of 10 films selected from world festivals will be screened in the seaside garden of the New Ayvalık Municipal Building (former Tax Office).

Tax evasion – Taxpayers haven’t declared their income from salaries and pensions they receive from abroad
Thousands of Greek taxpayers, who "forgot" to declare to the Tax Office the income from their salaries or pensions they receive from abroad, were identified by the Independent Authority for Public Revenue (IAPR) through the process of automatic exchange of information with other countries.

EWG withholds 2-bln-euro tranche without private school VAT hikes or foreclosures
The Greek government did all it could to end open fronts with its creditors by submitted an omnibus bill of laws to be voted through in fast-track procedures on Thursday afternoon. The bill is to be discussed on Monday, however not in time for the Euro Working Group to disburse the 2-bln-euro tranche benchmarked for Greece at its meeting on Thursday.

Thousands of Greek households are to be negatively affected when the new tax reforms are implemented by the government, with the first rush of panic already felt by taxpayers as well as the relevant services of the General Secretariat of Public Revenue. From Tuesday until October 30, it will be raining changes as demands for money to line state coffers grow.

Scotland Yard verses the Greek police on IS attack situations
A seminar concerning a possible attack of member of the Islamic State on Greek ground was observed by the negotiation team of the Greek Police. A delegation from Scotland Yard trained 20 Greek officers in a seminar organized by the Center of Security Stidies and the Joint Coordinating Center of Operations and Crisis Management of the Greek police force.
