'Lonely cowboy' crooner Loukianos Kilaidonis dies
Popular singer/songwriter Loukianos Kilaidonis, known for the almost naive and upbeat sentiment of his songs, has died, his family announced on Tuesday.
The 74-year-old composer, songwriter and singer passed away in an Athens hospital in the early hours of Tuesday from a respiratory infection.

Diaspora fellowship program funded by SNF aims to forge collaborations, stop brain drain

Meet Usko, the bear on wheels
Usko arrived at Arcturos in July 2015. He was only 3 months old. He had been discovered by members of an environmental organization based in Skopje, in the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia (FYROM), suffering from severe spinal injuries. He couldn't stand up and was clearly in a lot of pain.

Prosecutors probe sit-ins at Aristotle University
Prosecutors on Friday launched investigations into whether anyone should face criminal charges in connection with sit-ins at two faculties of Thessaloniki's Aristotle University by supporters of the so-called No Border Camp pro-refugee movement.

Solidarity with what?
The arrival of hundreds of supporters of the so-called No Border Camp pro-refugee movement at Thessaloniki's Aristotle University is not an issue merely for Greece's academic community. The fact that an unauthorized event is being held on university property should in fact be an issue for all of us, as a society and a country.

Gov't 'will not be terrorized' minister says after firebomb attack
Justice Minister Nikos Paraskevopoulos on Wednesday condemned a firebomb attack by unidentified assailants on his former office at Thessaloniki's Aristotle University, which caused damage but no injuries.
"The government will not be terrorized," Paraskevopoulos, who is a professor of law, said in a statement.
