Maiden’s Tower strengthened with ‘stakes’
Within the scope of the restoration works of the historical Maiden's Tower, one of the symbolic buildings of Istanbul, the Transport and Infrastructure Ministry has informed that they have surrounded the island where the tower is located with stakes to keep it standing and afloat for thousands of years.

Domestic flight price cap increased
The Transport and Infrastructure Ministry has announced that it has decided to increase the price cap for domestic flights.
Accordingly, the maximum fare for domestic flights soared from a previous 990 Turkish Liras to 1,150 liras.
In July, more than 8 million passengers traveled on domestic routes.

Five cruise ships with 7,000 passengers visit Kuşadası in one day
The famous holiday resort town of Kuşadası in the western province of Aydın hosted five cruise ships with 6,700 passengers on board in a single day.
Liners Celestyal Olympia, Star Flyer, MSC Lirica, Viking SKY and Seven Seas Explorer docked at the Ege Port on July 5.
Passengers of the cruise ships visited the ancient city of Ephesus and the House of the Virgin Mary.

Iran-Turkey railway aims for 1mln tons of cargo in 2021
Roughly 1 million tons of cargo are to be transported via rail between Turkey and Iran this year, Turkish authorities said on Jan. 26.
The Transport and Infrastructure Ministry said in a statement that a recent memorandum of understanding signed in a gathering of railway representatives in Turkey's capital Ankara on Jan. 12-13 would open a new era for the transit railway.
Fog shuts down traffic on Turkey's Bosporus Strait
Heavy fog led to a shutdown of vessel traffic late on Jan. 17 in Turkey's Bosporus Strait, said Turkish officials.
Marine traffic in the Bosporus has been suspended as visibility is below a half mile, the Istanbul Port Directorate of the Transport and Infrastructure Ministry said in a statement.
