Turkey's Defense Ministry on Jan. 9 announced that four Turkish soldiers were killed during an anti-terror operation in Syria.

The soldiers were killed by a vehicle bomb attack during a road control in the Operation Peace Spring zone, the statement said.

The ministry also extended its condolences to the grieving families in the statement.

Two Turkish soldiers were killed in northern Iraq in clashes with PKK terrorists as part of Operation Claw, Turkey's Defense Ministry said on Jan. 2.

Turkey's Defense Ministry on Nov. 17 said that the YPG/PKK terror group released over 800 ISILprisoners of war in Tal Abyad, Syria. 

The YPG terrorist behind the latest attack in northern Syria believed to have killed civilians on Nov. 16 has been captured by the Turkish National Intelligence Organization (MİT) in an operation, according to Turkey's Defense Ministry. 

Turkish and Russian troops have started their third joint ground patrols east of Euphrates as part of the Sochi deal on northern Syria, between Qamishli and Derik cities, according to Turkey's Defense Ministry on Nov. 8.

Turkey's Defense Ministry on Oct. 12 said that Ras al-Ayn neighborhood located east of Euphrates in Syria was taken under control in the scope of Operation Peace Spring.

Turkish F-16s on Sept. 29 shot down an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) near the Syrian border after it violated Turkish airspace multiple times, said Turkey's Defense Ministry.       

Turkish and American troops held a second ground land patrol on Sept. 24 in the planned safe zone in northern Syria, Turkey's Defense Ministry said.

A new phase in Turkey's counter-terrorism operation in northern Iraq has begun, with new commando forces sent to the region, Turkey's Defense Ministry announced on Sept. 18.
