Türkiye anti-terror strategy deals heavy blow on terrorists

Türkiye's anti-terror strategy that aims to eradicate terrorists in their hide-outs in northern Syria and Iraq has succeeded and zeroed terrorist activities on Turkish soil, the defense minister has said, informing that 78 PKK members were neutralized in the Turkish army's strikes in retaliation to the PKK's recent attacks.

Nine Turkish soldiers killed in attack on Iraq base

Nine Turkish soldiers were killed and four others wounded in an attack by PKK terrorists on a Turkish military base in northern Iraq, the National Defense Ministry said Saturday.

The ministry said the soldiers were killed during a clash with terrorists following an attempted intrusion at the base near Metina in northern Iraq.

Parliament extends mandate for troops in Libya

The parliament has approved the extension of the Turkish army's deployment in Libya for an additional two years starting from Jan. 2, 2024.

The motion submitted with the signature of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan justified the extension by arguing the need to take measures within the bounds of international law to "counter threats to Türkiye's national interests."

Turkish warplanes strike PKK targets in Iraq's north

Turkish forces carried out a targeted airstrike against 15 PKK locations in northern Iraq, Türkiye's Defense Ministry has confirmed.

The operation, conducted late on Nov. 4, focused on the Hakurk region and resulted in the destruction of numerous targets, including caves, shelters and warehouses used by senior PKK members, according to the ministry's announcement.
