Turkey sends protective gear to Lesotho

A Turkish state-run agency has provided protective gear to the Kingdom of Lesotho to help the Southern African country curb the outbreak of the coronavirus.

The Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TİKA) distributed sanitizers, gloves and masks to the Lesotho Disaster Management Team, according to a statement released on April 19.

Ankara sends aid to Arab countries to fight coronavirus

Turkey's state aid agency on April 15 sent aid packages to both Lebanon and Palestine to fight the worldwide coronavirus pandemic.

In the Israeli-blockaded Gaza Strip, the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TIKA) handed out personal care packages to 2,000 needy families with the help of a local NGO.

In North Macedonia, the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TİKA) distributed 2,500 packages of food, cleaning and hygiene products with the help of a local non-governmental organization.

Turkish hospital opens in Gaza Strip

The Palestine-Turkey Friendship Hospital in Gaza began operating as part of efforts to curb the novel coronavirus, Palestine's government said March 31.

Palestinian government spokesman Ibrahim Melhim said President Mahmoud Abbas and his Turkish counterpart,

Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, agreed during a telephone call to start operations at the hospital.

Turkey gives $650,000 for Ugandan agricultural project

Turkey has donated $650,000 for an agricultural project in northern Uganda, an area battered by years of conflict and refugee influx, a diplomat said on Feb. 24.

Turkey donated the funds to Uganda through the UN Development Program, which is working on the project, Ambassador Kerem Alp told state-run Anadolu Agency.

Turkey training Kenya police to fight crime, terrorism

Turkey's state aid agency kicked off a training program for Kenyan police on Feb. 24 in a bid to modernize and improve Kenya's law enforcement agencies.

The training by the Turkish police started in Nairobi, Kenya's capital, with the coordination of the Directorate General of Security and the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TİKA).

Turkey to attend int’l donors’ conference for Albania

Turkey will participate at the International Donors' Conference for Albania, scheduled to be held in Brussels on Feb. 17. 

Faruk Kaymakçı, Turkey's deputy foreign minister and director for EU affairs, will attend the conference, organized by the European Commission, which "aims to heal the earthquake wounds of brotherly Albania, the Turkish Foreign Ministry said in a statement.
