Just two days before President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan arrived in Somalia on June 3, the al-Qaeda-affiliated terrorist organization al-Shabaab attacked a hotel in Mogadishu, the capital of the country, killing at least 15 people. Most strikingly the Ambassador Hotel is where Erdoğan and his delegation had stayed in their previous visit to Somalia.

Deputy PM Akdo?an tasked to coordinate anti-Gülenist fight, Syrian migrants efforts

Turkish Deputy Prime Minister Yalç?n Akdo?an, a highly visible figure with a large portfolio already, has been tasked with the additional duties of coordinating both the government's fight against the activities of the "parallel state structure," a purported illegal organization allegedly led by U.S.-based Islamic scholar Fethullah Gülen, and its activities concerning Syrian refugees.

PM Davuto?lu to visit Jordan

Turkish Prime Minister Ahmet Davuto?lu visit Jordan this weekend to boost bilateral ties as well as to hold talks on recent developments in Syria. 

Davuto?lu is expected to arrive in Jordan late on March 26 to meet with senior Jordanian officials in Amman the following day. 

Turkish agency provides food aid to Nigerian refugees

The Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (T?KA) has provided food to 168 refugee families fleeing Boko Haram violence in northern Nigeria, the agency was quoted by the state-run Anadolu Agency as saying on Feb. 29.     

T?KA is helping refugees in the Durumi camp outside the Nigerian capital, Abuja.

Turkey to provide $1.5 million in health aid to Gaza

Turkey has said it has transferred $1.5 million to the WHO's Palestine Representation in order to assist health institutions in Gaza. The announcement comes a day after Turkish and Israeli officials met in Geneva to normalize ties. 

A statement issued late on Feb. 12 by the Foreign Ministry said the financial aid was made upon the request of the Palestinians.

Turkey to build Erdo?an Stadium in Gaza

Turkey is set to build a 20,000-seat stadium to international standards in the Gaza Strip to support sports in Palestine, officials revealed on July 14.

A member of the Higher Council of Youth and Sports in the Gaza Strip, Abd al-Salam Haniyeh, said the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (T?KA) would build the stadium.

Turkey says stands behind promise for $200 million aid to Palestine
