5th Tour of Antalya kicks off

Featuring four different challenging stages this time, the fifth Tour of Antalya kicked off on Feb. 8 with 25 teams and 175 cyclists from 16 countries.

Speaking at the press conference, Turkish Cycling Federation President Emin Müftüoğlu said that the federation has completed its 100th anniversary.

57th Tour of Turkey kicks off

The 57th Tour of Turkey will start on April 10 from the Aegean tourism hub Bodrum and end on April 17 in the country's largest metropolis, Istanbul, with 175 cyclists of 25 teams from 14 countries participating, the head of the Turkish Cycling Federation (TBF) has said.

The Çanakkale 1915 bridge, inaugurated on March 18, will be part of the total route of 1,308 kilometers this year.

Bike tour on busy Ankara highway suspended

A road bike tour being held in Turkey's capital was canceled on the 25th kilometer of the route as necessary precautions had not been taken on the track beforehand.

Organized in cooperation with the Turkish Cycling Federation and Kahramankazan Municipality, the 15 July Martyrs' Commemoration Road Bike Tour took place on an Ankara highway that was not closed to car traffic.

Turkey delays bicycle races due to COVID-19 pandemic

All cycling competitions to be held in Turkey until June have been postponed due to the coronavirus outbreak, the Turkish Cycling Federation announced on April 13.

"All scheduled activities until June 6 are postponed to a later date because of the coronavirus pandemic. New racing calendar will be announced later," the federation said in a statement.

Tour of Turkey ready to set off

The Presidential Tour of Turkey (TUR) enters its second half-century this year, and an international peloton of the highest order will join the opening celebrations at the seaside resort of Alanya, on the Mediterranean coast, where the first of the eight stages begins on April 26.
