The Turkish Super Cup final between Galatasaray and Fenerbahçe, scheduled to be played in Saudi Arabia's capital Riyadh on Friday, was postponed due to "some problems in the organization," with the joint decision of the clubs, the Turkish Football Federation (TFF) said in a statement.

The Turkish Football Federation has permanently banned the former president of a Turkish football team who punched a referee on the field moments after a game.

The federation late on Dec. 14 said it banned Faruk Koca, who has resigned as president of MKE Ankaragücü, for punching referee Halil Umut Meler on Dec. 11 night.

Turkish football leagues suspended after attack on referee

All Turkish football leagues have been suspended indefinitely following an attack by a club president on a referee, the Turkish Football Federation (TFF) announced in the early hours of Dec. 12.

"We have postponed games in all leagues indefinitely," TFF President Mehmet Büyükekşi told reporters following an emergency meeting of his board.

Türkiye bids to host Euro 2028 or 2032

 

The Turkish Football Federation (TFF) has submitted a final bid to UEFA to host the 2028 or 2032 editions of the European Football Championships.

"UEFA today received three bid dossiers from member national associations interested in hosting the 2028 and 2032 European Championships," the European football's governing body announced on April 12.

Gunfire hits Turkish Football Federation, no one hurt

Assailants opened fire on Sept. 1 on the headquarters of the Turkish Football Federation as the board met inside, officials said, adding that no one was injured in the attack.

Two suspects were arrested shortly after the incident, according to Turkish Interior Minister Süleyman Soylu, who described the accused as drunk.
